Heather M. Starmer, MA, CCC-SLP, BCS-S
Being a member of the DRS has allowed me to interact with like-minded clinician-scientists to develop and optimize my own clinical research profile. I have become a more nuanced, comprehensive clinician-scientist as a result of the diversity of experience and expertise that DRS members provide. Ankita M. Bhutada, MS-SLP, PhD Candidate
Being a trainee member of DRS has provided me with a platform to network with other trainees and to learn first-hand from world-renowned dysphagia clinician-scientists from various disciplines. After attending the annual DRS meeting and other DRS-sponsored events, I’m further inspired and eager to help contribute to the science and better help patients with swallowing disorders. Dr. Yael Shapira-Galitz, MD (Laryngologist)
Being a member of the DRS provides me with networking opportunities, access to interesting and professional webinars as well as to the Dysphagia journal. I realized that through my membership in the DRS I have more opportunities to contribute to the advancement of research in the field of dysphagia as well as improve my own knowledge in the field and subsequently the care I provide to my patients. Michelle Troche, PhD CCC-SLP
Being a DRS member has been hugely beneficial to my development as a dysphagia researcher and clinician. Through the DRS I have met amazing colleagues, mentors, sponsors, and friends who are deeply passionate about improving the care of people with dysphagia - all of these individuals have shaped and strengthened my work in a myriad of ways. I have also had the great privilege of working on behalf of various DRS research mentorship initiatives - and have had the great fortune to bear witness to the development of and learn from the researchers who make up (the very bright!) future of our field. Gokul Bala, MD (Gastroenterologist)
As a member of DRS, I enjoyed the relationship with like-minded providers and researchers across different disciplines such as Otolaryngology, Speech pathology or Gastroenterology. I appreciate the access to Dysphagia Journal which provides the latest developments in the field of deglutology. Moreover, it allows us to participate in various ways in the future of dysphagia care and research. |
