National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders

The National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders is a nonprofit, patient-advocacy organization for those impacted by dysphagia. Our commitment is to provide patient hope and improve quality of life for those suffering from all types of swallowing disorders. By enhancing direct patient support, education, research and raising public, professional and governmental awareness, our mission is to advance the prevention and treatment of swallowing disorders in our lifetime.

We offer annual membership to patients, caregivers, students, and healthcare professionals (largely, speech-language pathologists). Professional membership is $40/year and allows free access to all NFOSD Webinars, trifold brochures, access to select Foundation and Medical Advisory Board members on an as-needed basis,  ability to add membership support to your resume or CV, and knowing you are our partner in improving the lives of those with swallowing disorders.

The NFOSD offers a free downloadable clinician template of standard swallowing exercises. This information was provided to the NFOSD by the UC Davis Health System, Department of Otolaryngology and Nancy Swigert, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, F-ASHA and colleagues. The material is copyrighted.
