New Investigator Award

The Dysphagia Research Society (DRS) New Investigator Awards will be given to two eligible participants. Applicants may reside in any country and represent any profession. Each participant must have submitted a scientific abstract and been accepted for an oral presentation as part of the DRS Annual Meeting.

Two papers will be selected for oral presentation during the New Investigators’ Forum. These investigators will receive either the first or second place DRS New Investigator Award. First place will receive $1,000.00 and second place will receive $500.00.

  1. The applicant must be the presenter and first author on the abstract submission (oral format).
  2. The applicant’s submission must be accepted for oral presentation at the upcoming DRS Annual Meeting.
  3. If the applicant’s submission is accepted for oral presentation, the applicant must provide the review committee with a two-page (double space, one-inch margin) summary including rationale, methodology, data, implications or conclusions.
  4. The candidate must supply a current curriculum vitae with his/her abstract to be considered for the award.
  5. Candidates may apply more than once if not selected in a previous year and if they continue to meet the criteria.
