The AB-SSD Distinguished Research Award in Dysphagia

The AB-SSD Distinguished Research Award in Dysphagia is given to a speech-language pathologist or speech-language pathology student who presents a scientific paper at the Dysphagia Research Society Annual Meeting for topics related to swallowing function and disorders. Applicants must either be members of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) or the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA).

The $500.00 award is funded by the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.

To be eligible for this award the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be the presenter AND first author on the abstract submission (oral platform) presented at the upcoming DRS Annual Meeting.
  • The research may have a pediatric or adult focus.
  • Please provide the following:
    • Confirmation of ASHA or NSSLHA member. Please provide your ASHA member number
    • Indicate if you have BCS-S designation.
