About the Dash for Dysphagia

How are you going to dash this year? Will you be walking, strolling, running, biking, swimming, roller-skating, or doing something else? 

The DRS Dash for Dysphagia is a fun way for friends and colleagues around the world to join together in their support of the DRS Research and Education Fund (R&E Fund).

This VIRTUAL event will help raise funds to support early investigators from across the globe through travel scholarships offered for our 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting and support the DRS Research and Education Fund which will help establish future scholarships and grants to our members.

Show your support by signing up as an individual and raise funds, joining a team and competing against others around the world to see who can raise the most funds, or sponsoring the event.

Participate at anytime and anywhere during the week of June 8-15.

Registration

$25.00 for trainees 

$50.00 for non-trainees

(No t-shirts will be provided this year)

 

 



How to Sign Up

Click on "Become a Fundraiser" 


 

 

Enter your information (name, fundraising goal, etc.) You can create a url that you can use to direct people to donate to you here. Also let people know WHY you are fundraising - tell your story and why this is important to you. From here you can finish up your registration or go on to join or form a team.

 

 

 


 

Joining or Forming a Team

You can Join a Dash Team that is already formed by selecting the pull down menu on the left and find your team. If you are forming a team, select the button on the right “Create a Dash Team”. Continue with the instructions that follow. When your form your team, please consider including the following information:

  • A creative and fun team name
  • A photo of your lab or clinic team
  • A short description of your lab/clinic and your primary areas of research/clinical practice
  • The team motivation for participating in the event


When to Participate

Participants can choose to participate at anytime and anywhere during the week of June 8-15. You can ask others to support you or support your team!  

Don't forget to take photos before, during, and after your dash and share them on social media using the hashtag #Dash4Dysphagia #DRSdash2024 and tagging DRS (Facebook: @DysphagiaResearchSociety; Twitter: @Official_DRS; Instagram: @dysphagiaresearch) or send us your photos at drs@affinity-strategies.com!

We encourage you to post photos of you and/or your team members preparing for the event as well. 

 

Recognition

Both the highest individual fundraiser and the highest team fundraiser will receive a nominal prize and will be publicized on the DRS website and social media channels.

You can also donate to the campaign. To donate to a team or individual, you can scroll down to the bottom of the main page under “Top Dash Teams” and find the person or team there. Alternatively, you can select “Donate” in the menu on the top of the website. Scroll down to the Donation Amount field, enter the amount you would like to donate, select "Other" and type in the name of the team or individual you would like to support.
